WIth just three owners in more than a century, this is an opportunity to own a unique piece of Avondale history. This home has been lovingly preserved. Original hardwood floors with decorative inlaid borders, glass doorknobs, brass bath fixtures, original beadboard, stained glass, and other classic architectural details reflect the craftsmanship of the 1920s. The restored divided-light wood windows add to that character while filling the living spaces with natural light. The exceptionally spacious living room features a decorative fireplace, built-in display shelving, and plenty of room for two comfortable seating areas. An adjoining sunroom, surrounded by windows overlooking the garden, makes a delightful home office or reading retreat. The separate, light-filled dining room is a lovely space for gathering, while the kitchen features a gas range, counter seating, generous natural light, and easy access to the outdoor living areas. The home offers two bedrooms and two baths, including an oversized primary bedroom with a charming window-lined sitting area. Overlooking the garden, this inviting nook is the perfect place to curl up with a book and a cup of tea. The main bathroom features vintage tile, an original wood-framed medicine cabinet, rich wood window trim, and original brass bath fixtures. The second bathroom also has vintage tile and a stunning diamond-patterned casement window that floods the space with natural light. Outside, the gardens are every bit as special as the home itself. Lovingly cultivated for decades by the longtime owner, the lush grounds feature mature trees, flowering plants, and thoughtfully arranged garden spaces. A brick driveway lined with flowering pots and greenery feels more like a garden path, while a wooden deck provides a lovely setting for outdoor dining and entertaining. The detached garage, affectionately known as Fern Cottage, complements the home's architecture and offers flexible space for gardening, hobbies, or parking for two small to mid-sized cars. Set along Avondale's beautiful tree-lined streets, just a short walk from the Avondale shops and restaurants, Murray Hill shopping district, Willowbranch Park and Library, the Community Garden, and the new Peace Memorial Labyrinth, this home offers a wonderful combination of historic character, beautiful outdoor spaces, and walkable neighborhood living. This is a special opportunity to become the next steward of a much-loved Avondale home. Read Less
